The oldest basilica in Bakinci
Balkis, early Byzantine lost town from 4th century was discovered in Gornji Bakinci, municipality Laktasi, in septemeber, 2012. A number of ancillary edifices and holy episcopal basilica from early christian period, 40 x 13 m, which was the center of the ecclesiastical life of northern Bosnia between 4th and 6th century were found in the surrounding area. The whole complex is site of impressive proportions, more than 40 000 square meters. This archaeological locality has potential to become the most visited tourist destination in the region.
